In the early 1800s the family of William WHEELER, Sr. left Rowan Co., North Carolina and ended up in Gallatin/White/Hamilton Co., Illinois by 1810. In those 10 years he may have also stopped in Kentucky and/or Tennessee. Click here for the family group sheet of William Wheeler, Sr.

I am attempting to get a complete picture of that family by recording ALL of the information on ALL of the Wheeler families in ALL of the areas they lived (or passed through) in order to get it ALL correct. I am compiling/recording/presenting all of the information I have found on ANY Wheeler living in the areas where my ancestors are known to have been. 

If you are also interested in this Wheeler family, or any others who may have crossed paths with them, I invite you to browse these pages, and hopefully contribute to them. These pages have been re-worked several times in order to apply some order to them, however, I welcome additional suggestions and comments on how to improve this project.

There was at least one person on RootsWeb WorldConnect who believed that the parents of William Sr. were Thomas and Elizabeth Wheeler from Bedford County, VA however, I have seen no proof of that yet. That information has since been deleted from RootsWeb, so if you currently have this recorded as fact, you may want to change it.

2 January 2015: Thanks to the efforts and an email from one Jason Forbush, we may have located the final resting place (and subsequent life story) of William & Lucy's only daughter - Lucy. Click here for an interesting story.
